Lorsque nous passons du temps à construire un château de sable, nous intégrons consciemment ou non, le fait qu’il s’agisse là d’une action vaine, d’une construction éphémère. Ici je choisi d’écourter le processus en proposant ces sculptures en plastique. Ce sont des seaux de plage qui on l’imagine, permettraient de mouler si on les utilisait, des châteaux de sables en ruine, des châteaux déjà effondrés. La construction n’est pas entamée que déjà, à travers ces seaux nous comprenons que tout ce que nous pourrions créer sera forcément une ruine. Le but n’est plus une construction belle, faussement stable et bien pensée, mais directement le fait d’ériger, de concevoir une ruine. Car quand nous construisons un château de sable, si beau et faussement solide soit-il en apparance, nous construisons de fait une future ruine

My work often tries to define the game as the first learning of failure, loss, ruin, vain actions. When we spend time building a sandcastle, we integrate consciously or not, that it is about something vain, about a short-lived construction. As a consequence, I made the choice simply to shorten this process by proposing these plastic sculptures which are child beach buckets. By using them, playing with them, we could only directly get ruined sandcastles, already collapsed castles. The construction is still not begun that already, through these buckets, we understand that all that we can create with would be a ruin. The purpose is not any more a beautiful, wrongly stable and well thought construction, but directly the fact of setting up a ruin. Because when we build a sandcastle, we build anyway a future ruin.
